mpmonday Menu Plan: Week of May 17

Well, it’s officially starting!  I am expecting my first delivery of organic produce. I got mostly fruit for the boys. Paul is supposed to dig our garden this week (and by writing this, it should mean that it will happen…right babe?? :).

Now, just because we’re doing more natural and organic doesn’t mean everything will be organic so please don’t expect that :)  I am trying to do different things that will work for our family and now organic produce and more scratch cooking with natural ingredients is what it is. The organic meat will be coming later… as soon as I call that farmer!

: : Our Menu Plan this Week : :

: : Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup (organic tomatoes) *Kids’ Pick*

: : Black Bean Burgers (from All You’s Eat Well, Save Big Cookbook) with Tomato/Mozzarella Salad (organic tomatoes)

: : Potato Soup with Bacon

: : Spaghetti with Salad (organic) *Kids’ Pick*

: : Hamburgers (organic), Salad (organic), Oven Baked Fries

What’s on your menu this week?

Did you order a Happy Box from Fulton Farms, or from somewhere else?

Amy, I ordered from Farm Fresh Delivery. I need to check out Fulton Farms too. There are several I’m going to try before I decide on the one we plan on staying with.

Is there an organic farmer around to order meat from? We split a hog with my parents, but I’m looking for somewhere to get a grass fed cow from. Did that make sense? My mind is crazy racing with thoughts today…haha.

Kandi, actually there is a local place my friend and I are looking into for a grass fed cow. If you are interested, we can include you in our group b/c we are going to each get a quarter of it. Let me know!! Now I just gotta find some organic chickens!

Make sure you check out the comments related to the organic tomato soup before you make it. I would hate for you to waste any of your produce. I guess the answer would be to use veggie stock instead of the chicken and maybe add a can of tomato sauce to it? It will make sense when you read the comments! I love homemade tomato soup. I always add a teaspoon of sugar to tomato soup or sauce to sweeten it up.
