DEBT is GONE

by MommySnacks: Andrea on February 28, 2010

You all are overwhelming me with your amazing comments of congrats! Thank you SO MUCH!! We still have a way’s to go to be able to call Dave and proclaim we’re completely out of debt, but having this baby step DONE feels amazing!!

Forgive me for the caps, but I do believe this is one thing to CELEBRATE!!!!

I was going to wait to post this later this week, but I can’t stand it. I just paid the final balance on our consumer debt. Our DEBT is GONE!!!!  You can watch the vlog to see my excitement (btw, I can’t stand myself on video but I wanted you to see the face behind the screen for this announcement).

As many of you know this is one of our personal goals for this year. The goal was to have it gone by March 1. Well, what is today??  You know it, a day early even!

As mentioned in the video, I will share a series of posts about our financial history. There is so much I need to write, but I think looking as far back as possible helps me understand why some of the behaviors I have are the way they are.  Look for that over the next couple weeks.

For now, that’s all I have for ya. I’m excited you would NOT believe!!

Oh, and for the record, apparently the Memo section in online banking doesn’t like exclamation points. I tried to enter 5 of ‘em as I put “Paid OFF!!!!!” but it wouldn’t let me! I know I love the exclamation point, but seriously bankers there are times when that form of punctuation is really necessary :)

We have the same goal–and I have three big payments to make tomorrow thanks to 2009 bonuses. I will be almost as excited as you, although not quite, since I’ll still have one card left. :) CONGRATS to you guys!

Awesome! Isn’t it a wonderful feeling? We have no credit card debt, no car payments, no medical bills lurking, etc. The only bills we have other than normal monthly household bills are our mortgage and a home equity loan. My goal right now is to have that home equity loan paid off by August! It’s gutsy since the balance is around $9300 but I’m going to work hard to try to hit that goal! It will be exciting to only have a house payment and nothing else to worry about.
