During Checkout, Meijer’s registers will not give you the full discount on the value of the candy bars that are supposed to be FREE if you are using coupons.  They always have to manually override them.  To avoid this, go through Uscan and do your order.  First, scan the 3 Reese’s you are paying for then immediately scan your coupons.  Then, finish your order and scan the other two candy bars that are FREE.  Then, scan the other coupons.  The last time this sale was going on, I processed my order in this way and didn’t have issues.

RE Chex Mix deal.

At my store, only 2 like coupons will double.

So…this deal wouldn’t work out to be free, as you have to purchase 4 bags of chex mix to use the mealbox Qs.

It is still a good deal if it is a product you use, but something to keep in mind :)

K, good point! I also added an insert coupon there too.

RE Catalinas

Does Green Giant Boil in bag veggies = Green Giant Steamers?

[Reply]

mommysnacks Reply:

K, no, there are actual boil in bag veggies. Steamers are different and microwave only.

Andrea – I have had a problem with Meijer accepting both MFG and Meijer Q’s for the same item and was told “it says on the bottom of every ad – one coupon per item-”. Do you have something in writing from Meijer that says I can use both that I could print out and take with me if I run into this problem again?

[Reply]

mommysnacks Reply:

April, I have something directly from Corporate stating that both a Manufacturer coupon AND Store coupon can be used on one item. The language at the bottom, as I’m sure you know, means only one of each on the one item. Let me dig up that email and I’ll send it to you.

Be careful using your b1g1 q’s combined with a b1g1 sale. The way the system is set up it will only give you ONE of the discounts. I found this out the hard way by using all of my reeses coupons with the sale a few weeks ago… It appeared that the discount was given but when I got home and looked at the receipt it did not give the meijer discount, only took off the coupon. HTH

Thanks, Carrie! I mentioned that in the post since I did the same scenario last time. I found going through uscan helped to eliminate the issues since I scanned my coupons, then scanned the FREE candy bars after that.

I was at Meijer today & was buying the Crystal light. I bought 4 because they were B2G2. I had the $2 off of 2 coupon & it would only accept one coupon. Has anyone else had this problem?

[Reply]

mommysnacks Reply:

Sara, I imagine it’s the same thing as I mentioned below with the Reese’s candy bars. Because you got two FREE, the register won’t accept it. They should override the register to accept it since you got the quantity requirement.

I am going to go back to Meijer & see if they will adjust my receipt. Luckily I didn’t put the coupon in the slot at the self check out. WOOHOO. Thanks for your quick response.

My meijers also only doubles two like coupons so the chex mix freebie won’t work there. Today it also started beeping on coupons that have overage. I never have had that problem before. The cashier told me it was because the coupon said not to double, but the screen clearly said “EXCEEDS ITEM PRICE”. Just last week I went through the uscan and bought ten healthy choice meals and used ten coupons, it gave me a receipt back and a dime! Not gonna work that way anymore. I did find a great deal with lysol nutra air freebie deal. They had nutra air that was shrink wrapped and said B1G1 so I grabbed two of those and with my three coupons it cost me .18 cents for four cans!!!

Oh and just so everyone knows there is no longer a .50 printable for frosting. It is buy two and get .50 off.

I found Northland Cranberry Juice blends for $1.99 each, there is a 1.00 off two on the Meijer Mealbox. AND if you go to the Northland Cranberry Website you can get a coupon that is also good for $1.00 off on two. Hurray!

Thanks for your web site. It is awesome. Most of you are SO lucky my Meijers does not do double coupons, yes I have saved alot of money with a sale item, MQ and a Mealbox…but not doubles.

13 Christina K September 29, 2009 at 11:02 pm

I just wanted to share, I was able to print off 6 of them Green Giant Veggies (3 computers) and got them all free (had to do 2 per transaction since Meijer only doubles the 1st two coupons).

I also aquired 8 boxes of those Betty Crocker Snacks for 2.00 total!!!

I owe my thanks to you mommysnacks for posting this information on your website. You have saved my family tons of money…

My blog shows the total saved so far: http://couponrockinmama.blogspot.com

Thank you again, i hope everyone gets to score big deals this week.

Andrea, can I get a copy of that corporate email as well? I got grief today in line about the Meijer q and manufactuer q combining (since it was giving me free BC frosting and free Warm Delights).

The machines were screwing up so badly today and the cashiers were so slow it took me over an hour to check out – and even then I had to leave 15-20 items behind because I ran out of time and had to pick up my boys.

Today’s a day I’m glad Meijer attaches survey invites at the bottom of their receipts.

I found the Pepperidge Farm Texas Toast “on sale” at the Fairfield Meijer’s last night for $2.39 a box. In my flyer there was an insert for frozen food items “stock up sale” w/ a $1.00 off 2 “Meijer Discount Coupon”. Stack this w/ 2 $.50 off (doubles to $1.00 each) any MFQ and you get it for $.89 each. Lingo on “Meijer Discount Coupon” states “only 1 Meijer Discount Coupon per transaction”

16 Rebecca October 3, 2009 at 9:34 am

I apologize if you’ve already addressed this…but I just noticed that the Meijer Mealbox coupons now say “limit one coupon per transaction”. I’m assuming that means I can’t print out multiple Mealbox coupons, but I’m hoping the cashiers aren’t going to take that to mean I can’t stack them with a manufacturers coupon

[Reply]

mommysnacks Reply:

Rebecca, I have just seen that new language. This was on there once before. I need to email the Meijer Corporate contact I have with some questions I have on the topic. I will address it when I hear back. Thanks!
