You have list on this page that Target is offering a .50 cent credit for reusable bags but it is actually .05 cents. You have it listed every where else as .05. Just dont want to confuse anyone.

What is Target's price adjustments for Black Friday?

Here is an example, I just bought the Barbie scooter for $23 at Target and on Black Friday I believe it is going to be $17. Do the do price adjustments, they are both from Target ads? Do you think I could go in and get a price adjustment on Friday? Does it say anything about price adjustments from it's own store? Thanks!

I am not sure if this will include groceries too. Meijer has a price matching policy, but will not do groceries... only general merchandise. :(

Michelle, that's an interesting point. I wonder how they would validate the everyday price, maybe calling the store? I would definitely purchase it at the cheaper place too.

This policy is probably the lamest of all price matching out there.

They will not match everyday pricing, only items listed in the ad. You have to bring the FULL printed ad to the store, as well.

For instance, we received gift cards to Target and I was going to purchase a "Cozy Coupe" for our son. Target is $10 higher every day compared to Walmart and Toys R Us.

Target refused to consider matching those prices, unless there was a sale. If there was a sale at those other places, why would I even bother buying the higher priced item at Target? So I could endure a complicated purchase/confirm/refund scenario?

Anyway, ending my rant.

My mother-in-law works for Target and I asked her about this, and here is some of what she emailed to me...

*****
There have been a few transactions [so far, using the price match policy], but because the policy is SO very specific, it takes a while for guests to identify items which meet the price match. There may be much more activity as the holiday's arrive.

I found out the process itself is not really as "guest friendly" at this point in that a cashier cannot provide the price match to the guest at the time of purchase. The guest must pay our price and proceed to guest services for them to review the competitor's sales ad and properly code the price match transaction for tracking purposes. Target is VERY motivated in metrics...which I fully support. Target may have to re-code each cash register in order for the price match to be performed at the time of purchase...and that may come at a later date.

I was so excited to hear about this...but I am certain that my Target will be WAY behind in getting the memo...they are so frustrating when it comes to couponing. If anything gets complicated (like stacking coupons) things start to fall apart quick....so I really have to profile my checkers closely ( no grouchies, as I call them) and hope for a cheerful checker who understands couponing.
And I love your idea of keeping a copy of the new policy in your binder, great idea.
Thanks for the hot new tip!! KL

Sarah, I would HOPE they would let us use the Target coupon too but I know what you mean. I'm curious to see how this one plays out though. I'm happy that they are doing it because I prefer Target over Walmart. But, our Walmart has a super center and our Target doesn't.... I guess it's give/take :)
